Success!
Well I think this will be my last p90xtacy post. As you may or may not know, this account was set up by my roommate, Jessica, and me as a way to track our way through P90X.
I’ve posted about 80% of the time, keeping the world updated on the successes and challenges of my journey. I’ve also learned SO much through this tumblr thing. So, I’ve decided to create my own account. If you choose to follow, I would be happy to have you. I intend to continue my fitness journey. I’m just getting started. Stay tuned for info on my new account.
Here is my overall P90X review.
If you own it. Do it. Don’t half-ass it. Do it. Follow a healthy nutrition plan - the one provided, if you can do it. Don’t give up half way through. Challenge yourself and show yourself what you can do.
I will be honest. I only followed the nutrition plan for the first month. After that I tracked my calories and used the weight watchers program. Other than that, I gave it my 110%. I worked out every day. I have results - good results, but they are mostly buried under a layer of chub. I have abs of steel - seriously they are rock hard … I just need to get the rest of the fat off. The program did just as they said, I am in the best shape of my life … so far. Now that P90X has shown me what I am capable of, I intend to do it.
Workouts:
The workouts are thorough (at least in my novice opinion). They are as challenging as you make them to be. If you want a laid back workout, you can turn even Legs & Back into a smooth session. Basically, you can let yourself ‘cheat.’ DON’T DO THIS. Every time I felt like this was happening, I told myself, “Jennie, did you wake up at 5:30 am to wuss out? Make this workout WORTH IT!” It worked.
Otherwise, I found the workouts to go rather fast after the first month. The instructions became a little tedious, but they offer options to play the video without music, talking, or both. You have to love Tony’s babblings!
Future:
I am continuing my goal to finish a 5K - I have lots more to cross off my list before the year is up! My nutrition will continue to be as healthy as I am able to maintain. I am planning to research more and refine the food I put into my body. I hope to minimize the amount processed foods I take in - I still have my chub to get rid of! With my success of completing P90X, I’ve decided to end my subscription with weight watchers. I’m sad to see it go (since I still have 5 pounds to go till my ‘WW goal weight’), but I am completely confident in my future successes! Plus, I will be saving lots of monies! It was a great program that got me on the right track!

Thanks for all the support and encouragement. I am so proud. On to Round 2.

Yoga - Nature’s Edition
Sorry about the delay, we were visiting family in Illinois. Here it is:
Well this is it. Last day of Yoga. Since we were at Nana and Boppa’s, we had to find new territory for our session with Tony. It just so happened that there was a wide open park just beyond their yard. Challenge accepted.
Despite the 90 degree temp and 827% humidity, we planted our mats under a grouping of large trees. The shade was essential. The next 90 minutes were amazing despite the obstacles we had to overcome:
- Did I mention it was super hot?
- Mother Nature does not always provide even ground.
- Ice cream - we had to fight the temptation of ICE CREAM. There was a legitimate ice cream truck about 100 yards off. It was taunting us with it’s creepy music and happy children. We totally would have had enough time to grab money and get ice cream. Who has ice cream trucks anymore - that’s just not fair?!?!?!
- The sun kept trying to sneak through the branches of our shielding tree, which meant we had to continue to move.
- We had to fend off those pesky mosquitos.
- Oh yeah, let’s not forget the humidity - boy that ice cream would have tasted good!
- Our mats did not stay on the ground. They moved when we moved.
- The battery on our computer ran out, but since we’ve done Yoga a bijillion times, we forged on sans Tony. I bet he went and sucked down some ice cream while we weren’t looking.
- GIANT TARANTULAS!! Well, Erich might have been attacked by a ginger spider. He frightened the little 8 legged monster, but it only came back with a vengeance. Needless to say. Ginger-Spider made it to corpse pose a little faster than we did!
- The ice cream truck was long gone by the time we were done. How unfortunate.
Overall, I truly enjoyed my last day of Yoga. We battled the physical, mental, and emotional. We won.

Sweaty Synergistics
What is it about Core? If sweat was a prized commodity, I’d be rolling in the monies! Granted, the bills would probably stick to me, but I could get over it.
P90X is almost over … struggling with lots of choices.
- What to do next?
- Should I take a week off?
- Do I post my pics?
- How can I ‘step it up?’
- Can I find someone to pay for a personal nutritionist and chef for me?
- Do you think Tony would make personalized work out videos for me that do not include the 3 minute lunge sequence and all the other moves I dislike so much?
- Do I continue writing in this ‘shared’ tumblr?
- Should I just start my own tumblr?
- What would my new tumblr be named?
- Would all of you ‘followers’ follow me if I moved into a new tumblr?
- Why do I hate Core so much?
Well, I guess I got off track a little …
Yoga tomorrow. When we started this, oh so long ago, I agreed to do our ‘last’ yoga session outdoors (weather permitting, of course). Well, Jess and I won’t be together, but Erich and I will. We have both agreed that if there is no rain, we will be going to a park with our mats to yoga it up - nature style. Perhaps I’ll set the camera up for some timer shots!

Day 89 - Core Synergistics
It’s so close I can taste it. Oh wait … that was just sweat dripping off my face.
Stretching VS Running
Stretch? Really. I’m kinda pumped. How about a run instead? Stretch a little before and after … it’s not an hour of X Stretch, but it’s something … right??? Also, I consumed 90+ oz of water today! Minus a trip to the bathroom every hour, water in your body feels AMAZING!
So, yeah. Did a 1.38 mile run. I did not keep track of time. I’ve decided to keep running for a couple of weeks and then track my time. No sense in obsessing over it - I not in it to win the race - I’m just looking to have the ABILITY to FINISH!! I’ll get there!!
I’m not looking forward to Core tomorrow.

Day 88 - Stretch/RUN
PS … did you notice I only have 3 days left?!?! WOO! (Yes, I can count. P90X is actually P91X, but that doesn’t sound as nice! FALSE ADVERTISING!!)
heartofkaren asked: Good job on keeping up with p90x! :) I just started D:
but anyways, I wanted to ask, what was your starting weight? and where are you know?
Thank you!!
Well about a year ago I weighed about 160 - the highest I’ve ever been. I’m 25 and 5’4”, so that made me officially overweight - obese. So I went on Weight Watchers. I went down to 137 and I hit a stand still.
So, that’s when I started P90X! I’m now down to 132 - I’ve only lost 5lbs. BUT before starting P90X, I was comfortably wearing a size 11. Now I can wear an 8 comfortably. I may not show results in pounds but, I can’t wear half of my clothes anymore!! WOO! I still have some chub to burn off, but I KNOW I have muscles under there!
I’ll be (hopefully) posting before/after pictures. I don’t have the results I was expecting, however I didn’t necessarily follow their nutrition plan. I stuck with counting my calories and weight watchers!
Stick with it!!! I started seeing results near the end of my second month!! Don’t give up!

I was able to watch part of this while I was at the dentist. I have a few thoughts:
- Tony … what are thinking with that hair?
- Could they not find anyone else to do the interview? Maybe someone that would actually be interested in the segment?
- Love the new moves, but this is quite misleading for what P90X actually is!
- The Today show needs to get their act together … they’re rough!
No Time = Short Note
What’s that? Only 4 days of P90X left!! Short on time … so you get the abbreviated update:
- Kenpo got my morning going. I have to admit, it’s not so bad when I don’t have to do it on a Saturday!
- My dentist said I should never try boxing - my petite jaw would never handle the blows. If I didn’t like my face so much, I might have actually considered boxing just because he told me not to.
- Spent an arm and a leg to get some lotions and creams from the dermatologist. This will make running pretty difficult.
- I was good when I went to dinner with Erich’s family. I probably ate only 5 chips - that takes will power. Then I rounded out my dinner with a house salad and soup!
- I purchased some cheap sports bras … they should do the trick …
- Lost will power once I got home. Ate chocolate frosting - at least 2 spoons.
- Regained will power and threw the rest of the frosting away - it was at least 2/3 full! (Erich’s going to kill me when he reads this!!!)
- I managed to jump back on the tracking train. I tracked ALL the food I ate (even the frosting)!! I had fallen off for the past week. I will continue this tomorrow.
- I need to decide what to do after P90X (besides getting my SWEET X shirt)!! Only FOUR days left, in case you forgot!!
